Volcan quilts are Panamanian teachers and expatriate volunteers who teach how to make quilt products, fabrics and other seder items.
The members of this organization are people from the Volcan community and its surroundings such as Paso Ancho, Cerro Punta and Bugaba.
The products sold at school are wallets, tapestries, table runners, tablecloths, naguas, vests, Christmas ornaments, baskets, necklaces, pads, aprons, shawls, quilted vests, and many other products.
The products are done on a 12 foot long arm machine by specialists who have experience in this work. The charge for all work is $ 3.50 per hour and classes are $ 30.00 for four lessons or $ 7.50 per day. To use sewing machines, our tools and rugs and other items, it costs $ 6.00 per day. There is a teacher who speaks Spanish and English in the classroom every day.
